I was trying to make sure that the picture didn't look overly-saturated once it was scanned, but I'm still trying to figure out how to appropriately tone down the colors, once the contrast has been adjusted (so that the inked areas actually look black like they do in person, instead of grey / washed out. Silly scanners..) materials used: brush pen, technical pen, white ink and colored pencil on patterned paper.

A commission for MistahFixIt, of his character, Conrad. :) I really wanted to do something with the character that seemed to convey him having glanced at you for a moment, out of the corner of one eye, before the goggles go down and he's off again! I'm still having a ball with the no-black-ink thing!

I'm actually very, very pleased with how this turned out. I really enjoy working with colored pencils! There's a bit of marker to this piece, as well as a bit of white ink. The majority of this piece, however, is prismacolor colored pencils. This is the raffle prize for Thesi. :}
